Pope Francis challenges World Economic Forum to act swiftly

In his book , Keys Of This Blood, late Jesuit priest, Malachi Martin, foretold of the condition of the world that would come about as a result of a three way competition for world domination. He listed those three players as Capitalism, Communism and Catholicism. He postulated that the competition will end in confrontation with Catholicism as the ultimate victor.

For all practical purposes Communism has been neutralized into what is now considered State Capitalism. Catholicism, under the leadership of Jesuit Pope Francis, is rapidly intensifying its attack on Capitalism. If there is any entity that epitomizes Capitalism it is the World Economic Forum. The WEF is an international organization that hosts an annual meeting of business titans, political and religious elites, academics, celebrities, and other prominent figures in Davos, Switzerland. The gathering at this insanely expensive resort, discusses, explores and influences the economic and social condition of the world. Recently, the climate crisis has become the center of its deliberations.

Greta Thunberg, a most vocal and determined climate-change activist, addressed this most auspicious audience: “We are right now in Davos where basically the people who are mostly fueling the destruction of the planet, the people who are at the very core of the climate crisis, the people who are investing in fossil fuels etcetera, etcetera and yet somehow these are the people that we seem to rely on solving our problems.” She was echoing the sentiments of Pope Francis who is perhaps her most fervent supporter.

As the current pope, Francis can justifiably be credited with making the climate-change issue not only the hub of the WEC global wheel; but to awakening the the world at large to what he considers the greatest threat to the survival of the planet and its human family. In his encyclical Laudato Si’ he called for “one world with a common plan”. In it he also proposes his perceived foundation for that plan that will be for the common good. He writes, “On Sunday, our participation in the Eucharist has special importance. Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world. Sunday is the day of the Resurrection, the “first day” of the new creation, whose first fruits are the Lord’s risen humanity, the pledge of the final transfiguration of all created reality. It also proclaims “man’s eternal rest in God” (Laudato Si’ #237).

“To manage the global economy; to revive economies hit by the crisis; to avoid any deterioration of the present crisis and the greater imbalances that would result; to bring about integral and timely disarmament, food security and peace; to guarantee the protection of the environment and to regulate migration: for all this, there is urgent need of a true world political authority” (Laudato Si’ #175).

That true world political authority is laid out in the book, Cathonomics: How Catholic Tradition Can Create a More Just Economy. The author, Anthony Annett, is an economist and Catholic theologian with deep interest in the climate-change crisis. His book draws from the work of Pope Leo XIII, Pope Francis, Thomas Aquinas, and Aristotle. His conclusion, ‘the solution to the world’s problems, particularly the climate crisis is Catholic social doctrine to be adopted by the entire world’.

Previously, high ranking representatives from the church were fixtures at the World Economic Forum. But this year, conspicuously absent from the Davos gathering was an official representative of the Vatican. In the words of a Davos local catholic priest, Father Susak, such an absence could be the signal that Rome is ready to openly confront the World Economic Forum. Susak says, “That, I think, is something of a statement that Rome is making to the World Economic Forum,” He speculated that it could be related to the fact that Pope Francis, in one of his most recent messages to the WEF, said: “Everything has been said, now act; that’s what it’s all about” (Catholic News Agency,

If Malachi Martin was right, and I believe that he was, then that final confrontation that would result in what the WEC calls the Great Reset. And what would that look like? Malachi Martin foretold’ “…our way of life as individuals and and as citizens of the nations of nations; our families and our jobs; our trade and commerce and money; our educational systems and our religions and our cultures; even the badges of our national identity, which most of us have taken for granted- all will have been powerfully and radically altered forever. No one can be exempted from its effects. No sector of our lives will remain unchanged.

Yes indeed, and Francis gives us a glimpse in his encyclical, Fratelli Tutti. He emphatically states, “Once more, I would like to echo a statement of Saint John Paul II whose forcefulness has perhaps been insufficiently recognized: “God gave the earth to the whole human race for the sustenance of all its members, without excluding or favouring anyone”.[94] For my part, I would observe that “the Christian tradition has never recognized the right to private property as absolute or inviolable, and has stressed the social purpose of all forms of private property”.[95] The principle of the common use of created goods is the “first principle of the whole ethical and social order”;[96] it is a natural and inherent right that takes priority over others…” (Fratelli Tutti, Se. 120).

We are living in solemn times rife with prophetic significance. John the Revelator paints the perfect picture of what is about to come upon the world as Francis and his church triumphs in Malachi Martin’s three way competition: “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast….These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast…These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 13:3; 17:13-14).

With the institution of Cathonomics, forced worship centered on Sunday sacredness will become a prophetic reality. How will you choose? Jesus has assured us that if we are with HIm then the victory is ours.
Choose Him.
